Birch the beauty queen

Birch is one of my favorite trees. I guess there are very few people in Russia who do not like birch. I feel in love with birch long before I first saw it. I think it was in class VII, when I first read about it in a Chekhov story, though I guess I read about it even before in Russian stories. First I saw birch in 1983 on my way from Shermitova to Mikhlukho Maklay. Shubho was all in excitement as he found a great scenery to paint. Those days I liked to paint, but without success. Only after sometimes I decided to become a photographer. In Moscow just next to our dormitory there was a forest - where it was thought that students of Peoples' Friendship University were thought to fight against imperialism with guns in hand. But I never witnessed any. That forest was full of pines and birches. In the morning I together with my friend Sri Kumar used to run there. Since then I like not only to walk in birch groove, but take photos as well. Here are a few of them. Most of them were taken in Dubna
